Read my first comic of 2017; ‘Weird Detective’ from Dark Horse; it’s a James Ellroy style Police Noir Mystery, where the investigator is secretly an HP Lovecraft style body-swapped alien. The fish-out-of-water aspects are played for laughs, which broadens the appeal, and the result reads like a cross between ‘Hellboy’ and the TV show ‘Monk’. First arc is very satisfying, and sows seeds for big things to come.
The first five issues are out now, with collection due in late Feb.
