Diana: Princess of the Amazons

Review written by Roshni Johnston (aged 7)

This book is called Diana: Princess of the Amazons, and I was excited to read it because my favourite superhero is Wonder Woman, and this takes place when she was really young, before she left Themyscira. In this comic Diana is a little bit lonely and she wants a friend because she’s the only kid on the island. So she makes a friend out of clay and sand, who comes alive when Diana blows life into her. Diana keeps her friend a secret and calls her Mona and she is a little bit good and a little naughty. Then Diana has a scary and exciting adventure with Monsters from Tartarus.

The comic is written by Shannon Hale and Dean Hale; who also wrote Ever After High, which is a cartoon on Netflix that I really like. It also has magic and Princesses in it. The art is by Victoria Ying, who also worked on the movies of Tangled, Frozen and Moana, which I loved a lot. The artwork looks like it’s a cartoon, and I wish it was a cartoon. Here is a video for the book like a trailer for a movie:

I like this book, and I read it all to my Daddy. I recommend it because if you like Wonder Woman you might like it too. I like the character of Diana because she is brave and I want to be her friend. And I wouldn’t be like Mona.

I’m looking forward to the new book called Diana and Nubia, because I want to find out what happens next.
