The story is fast-paced and energetic and the panoramic layout for the art-work takes it to another level as you can almost see the crackle from the old VHS running in the old tape machine...
Hot Schitt #1 is a rough-edge trip down memory lane. Schitt is a cop who's really good at what he does. Johnson gives him plenty of avenues for reminding characters (and the reader) that he's not one to be trifled with...
This isn’t the deepest or most profound piece of comics craft I’ll review on Broken Frontier this month but that’s entirely the point of it. It perfectly embodies the ephemeral nature of the era and genre it sends up with a knowing wink and an air of fond familiarity.
